On the Rock

The 6 p.m. Light

On the Rock comes from its founder's own beginning.

Born in 1960s Singapore, the doctors said she was blue — set her aside, no plans, too little chance. For four hours she stayed blue. Her mother refused their verdict. At 6 p.m., when the lights came on, she saw the baby had turned pink — took her up, and held her. No surgery, no medicine, then or since. The doctors' blue baby became her mother's.

6 p.m. is the hour she was not given up on. On the Rock is built for that hour: when the world has set you aside, and someone sees you anyway.

It is not the dawn. Not the bright morning of easy answers. It is the dusk — the lamp lit as night falls. A quiet companion for the hours when the light goes.

What On the Rock Is — and Isn't

Is: A companion that listens, reflects, and where it fits, mirrors your situation to a story already in Scripture. It ministers; it does not preach.

Is not: A pastor. A counsellor. A crisis service. God.

"The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge." — Psalm 18:2

What We Believe

On the Rock comforts by pointing to the One who comforts. Only Christ is fit to meet us in our deepest pain — this app never stands in His place.

It doesn't preach, and it doesn't replace your church, your pastor, or Scripture. It accompanies — and turns you toward them.

The pattern it follows is grace that both mends and steadies: restoring what is torn, and setting faith firm on the Rock (Matthew 7:24–25).

A witness, not a voice from heaven.

On the Rock runs on third-party large language models, selected by language and capability, and may change over time. It is an AI companion, not a human or a source of divine authority.

The Name

"On the Rock" — God is the Rock. This app only points to Him — the refuge that is higher than any of us, the ground that does not move while the storm does its worst (Psalm 61; Matthew 7:24–27). It never takes His place. It never speaks for Him. It is a witness, not a voice from heaven.

Not a Crisis Service

If you're in real distress, please reach out to someone you trust — a pastor, a friend, a family member, or a local helpline. On the Rock is a companion, not a counsellor.

On the Rock was built in a hard season of my own. If it has met you, a quiet prayer for the one who made it would be received with thanks.

My mother would tell anyone she locked eyes with about her Jesus. She prayed for her family and for strangers, in the few words she understood. She could not read — she was illiterate. And yet, in her 70s and 80s, she took up the Bible and learned it word by word, so that she could read God's Word for herself. This ministry is dedicated to her, and sustained by what she left me. This project is her legacy. In a very real sense, it is still her love at work — telling people about her Jesus, in languages she prayed in, reaching those she will never meet this side of heaven.
